TRACE OF AN UNEASY SLEEP

POSTER COLLECTION ON THE CENTENARY OF THE METAMORPHOSIS BY FRANK KAFKA

A hundred years after its publication, the INTERNATIONAL POSTER BIENNIAL IN MEXICO convened a community of graphic arts, advanced and beginners, to participate in the Poster collection on the centenary of the Metamorphosis by Frank Kafka, Trace of an uneasy sleep. Despite a life filled with oppression and distress, Kafka left a colossal literary work that encompasses reality and fantasy to signal the fatigue and strain caused by unilateral bureaucracy and the early 20 th century customs in Eastern Europe. Nonetheless, since 1915 and to this day Kafka’s works have gone beyond European frontiers and have had a huge impact on the pen of great Hispanic-American writers and the rest of the world; in this large spectrum we can find Vladimir Nabokov, José Emilio Pacheco, Haruki Murakami, Jorge Luis Borges, Gabriel García Márquez, María Zambrano, Octavio Paz, among many others.
