El Taiwan International Student Design Competition es el concurso para estudiantes  de diseño más importante de todo el mundo, el cual busca promover el intercambio internacional del diseño creativo, desarrollar talentos, transmitir la imagen internacional de Taiwán dando importancia al diseño creativo y establecer el estatus internacional en diseño de Taiwán.

Este año celebra su 15va edición, que es organizada por el Departamento de Educación Superior del Ministerio de Educación de Taiwán. La temática de este año es: Un Mundo (One World), por los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible, que deberá ser explorada en los trabajos registrados de las tres categorías existentes, las cuales son:

• Diseño de Producto.
• Diseño Visual.
• Animación Digital.

El registro al concurso es gratuito y terminará el próximo 15 de julio del presente año, a las 23:59 horas. Se aceptarán estudiantes que actualmente estén inscritos, contemplando desde preparatoria a grados superiores. En este sentido, los participantes deben haber nacido después del 31 de mayo de 1992 y ser menores de 30 años; mientras que también podrán participar los recién graduados en 2022.

La selección preliminar se dará a conocer a finales de agosto. Luego, a mitad de septiembre, será el anuncio de los finalistas. Tras esto, a los finalistas se les pedirá subir sus trabajos para la selección final. Dicha información y fecha límite se incluirá en el anuncio, por lo que la selección final se publicará a finales de octubre.

Por nuestra parte, queremos alentar a todas y todos los alumnos a que se unan a este concurso, así como a quienes son docentes en el área del diseño o forman parte de cualquier organización de diseño para que impulsen a estos nuevos profesionales que se están formando.

The Taiwan International Student Design Competition is the most important contest for students in the world. It aims to promote the international exchange of creative design, develop talent, convey Taiwan’s international image, giving creative design importance, and establishing Taiwan’s international status regarding design.

This year it will celebrate its 15th edition, which is being put together by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan. This year’s theme is: One World, for the Sustainable Development Goals that shall be explored in the registered works of the three existing categories, which are:

• Product Design
• Visual Design.
• Digital Animation.

Register is free and will end next 15th July of the current year at 23:59. Currently enrolled students will be accepted, considering high-school and higher levels. In that sense, participants must have been born after 31st May, 1992 and be less than 30 years old; students who graduated in 2022 can also participate.

Preliminary selections will be published in late August. Then, the finalists will be announced mid-September. After this, the finalists will be asked to upload their works for the final selection. Said information and the deadline will be included in the announcement, for which the final selection will be published in late October.

On our part, we urge all students to join this contest, but also all teachers in the design area, or those who are part of any design organization, so that they encourage these new professionals-in-process.
